Vero Cells Derivation
Known as African green monkey kidney epithelial cells, Vero cell line is one of the most commonly used mammalian continuous and aneuploid cell lines in biology research. Vero cell line is used to regard as Cercopithecus aethiops derived, which has been placed within the genus Chlorocebus. Now the Vero cell line is cited and designated as Chlorocebus aethiops.
Vero cells are derived from normal kidney cells of African green monkey; therefore, they maintain the contact inhibition. It is of great importance to monitor the Vero cell culture during proliferation in case they reach confluency, stop growing and start to die.
Why Choose Vero from AcceGen?
AcceGen Vero cell line can work as parent cell line to derive modified cells which display different phenotypes. The available derivatives such as Vero (AC-free) adapt to grow in serum free media.
