Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are a class of important proteins involved in innate immunity, serving as a link between innate and adaptive immunity. Activation of TLRs can induce signaling pathways dependent on MyD88 or TRIF, leading to the secretion of cytokines and chemokines, activating both innate and adaptive immune responses.
