Description

PC-9, previously known as PC-14, is a human non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cell line, which has a deletion mutation in exon 19 of the EGFR gene. It was derived from an undifferentiated human adenocarcinoma of lung tissue, consisting of a heterogeneous mixture of round and spindle-shaped cells. PC-9 cells demonstrate both adherent and suspension growth characteristics. PC9 Cell Line: EGFR Mutant NSCLC Cells | AcceGen ATCC ProviderThey can be cultured in either DMEM supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum(FBS) or RPMI 1640 with 2mM Glutamine and 10% FBS under 5% CO2 at 37 °C. 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA is recommended for the removal of attached cells. For seeding PC-9 cells, a density of 2-4×10,000 cells/cm2 is suggested, and a 1:8 split ratio is recommended for subculturing.

Why choose PC-9 from AcceGen?
The PC-9 cell product from AcceGen is ensured to be sterile, with no contamination from bacteria, fungi, mycoplasma, or human pathogens. The growth of PC-9 cells is characterized by their distinct morphology, indicating their identity and functionality. Our cells exhibit high viability and quality, ensuring reliable and reproducible results. The production of PC-9 cells by AcceGen follows rigorous and standardized conditions, ensuring consistency and reliability in their performance.

Application

  • FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY

  • PC-9 cells, a human non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cell line, have multiple applications in cancer research. They are used to study the effects of α-tocopherol on cytotoxic drugs, investigating whether it enhances or diminishes their effectiveness against NSCLC. Additionally, PC-9 cells serve as a model to study resistance to tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) in lung cancer, helping understand the mechanisms involved. Moreover, they are used in tumorigenicity studies to evaluate the tumor-forming potential and behavior of NSCLC. These applications contribute to advancing our understanding of NSCLC biology, drug resistance, and the development of effective treatment strategies.
