The OE-19 Luciferase Reporter Cell Line is generated from the OE-19 cell line, which originates from a human esophageal adenocarcinoma. This reporter cell line has been engineered to constitutively express the luciferase gene, allowing for bioluminescent tracking of cellular behaviors and responses in research.
The OE-19 Luciferase Reporter Cell Line should be cultured in RPMI 1640 medium supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS) and 1% antibiotics-antimycotics. For maintaining selective pressure and ensuring stable luciferase expression, 0.5 µg/mL puromycin should be added to the culture medium.
Upon receipt, quickly thaw the frozen vials by agitating them in a 37°C water bath for about 2 minutes, ensuring the vial remains above the water surface to prevent contamination. After thawing, decontaminate the vial with 70% ethanol, transfer the contents into a centrifuge tube containing 5 mL of complete culture medium, centrifuge at 200×g for 5-10 minutes, discard the supernatant, and resuspend the cells in fresh medium before transferring them to a new culture flask.
The OE-19 Luciferase Reporter Cell Line is primarily utilized for studying gene expression and molecular pathways in esophageal adenocarcinoma. It facilitates the investigation of cancer biology, drug screening, and the efficacy of therapeutic interventions by providing a quantitative bioluminescent readout of cellular responses.
The OE-19 Luciferase Reporter Cell Line is classified as biosafety level 1. Standard laboratory safety procedures should be followed, including wearing personal protective equipment and conducting all procedures in a biological safety cabinet to minimize the risk of contamination and ensure safe handling. The cells should only be used for in vitro experimental purposes and not for therapeutic or diagnostic use in humans or animals.
