The NFS-70 C10 cell line was derived from a lymphoma in an NFS/N mouse through the injection of CaS-NS-7 ecotropic MuLV. These cells exhibit characteristics of pre-B cells and are situated at an early stage of B-cell differentiation, displaying markers associated with pro-B lymphoblasts such as Mac 1 (CD11b), Ly 17 (CD32), Ly 1 (CD5), and Lyb 2 (Ly 5/B220, CD45R). They, however, do not express ThB, surface immunoglobulin (sIg), or Ia. These cells are believed to represent a very early commitment to B cell differentiation and should be maintained in culture within a range of 3-9×105 cells/mL.

FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY
The NFS-70 C10 cell line holds significant applications in immune biology and virus studies, particularly MuLV research. It serves as a valuable tool for investigating B lymphopoiesis and lymphopoietic activity in the context of cytokine interactions. NFS-70 C10 cells are instrumental in studying the differentiation processes that stimulate the replication of B lineage cells at an early developmental stage, shedding light on the activities influenced and modulated by cytokines within this intricate immune pathway.
