Nuclear Factor of Activated T cells (NFAT) is a transcription factor family that plays a crucial role in inducing gene transcription during immune responses. Apart from T cells, these proteins can also be expressed in various immune cells such as B lymphocytes, macrophages, and eosinophils. Their activity is regulated by the calcium-dependent phosphatase calcineurin.NFAT is a multifunctional transcription factor involved in regulating T cell activation, differentiation, and self-tolerance. It is expressed in various immune cells including T cells, B cells, NK cells, macrophages, monocytes, and eosinophils, inducing the transcription of cytokines and other genes during immune responses. Numerous studies suggest that the activation of NFAT is associated with the development of various acute and chronic diseases such as asthma, Alzheimer’s disease, inflammatory bowel disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and myocarditis, leading to increased attention. The NFAT-Luc Reporter Jurkat Cell Line uses Jurkat cells as a tool cell line, stably expressing the NFAT-Luc reporter gene through lentiviral infection, and can be used to detect NFAT signaling transduction. Upon activation by pro-inflammatory cytokines or receptor agonists, endogenous NFAT transcription factors bind to DNA response elements, inducing the transcription of the luciferase reporter gene.
