The CCDC6-RET kinase protein is a fusion protein comprised of the CCDC6 (Coiled-Coil Domain-Containing Protein 6) and RET (Rearranged during Transfection) kinase proteins. This protein undergoes mutations in certain tumor cells, leading to its activation and promoting tumor growth and metastasis. The CCDC6-RET kinase protein is commonly seen in tumors like lung cancer and thyroid cancer, making it a potential therapeutic target. Research indicates that inhibiting the activity of the CCDC6-RET kinase protein can effectively suppress tumor growth and spread, providing new avenues for cancer treatment. Several tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) targeting the CCDC6-RET fusion gene are available, such as Cabozantinib, Selpercatinib, and Pralsetinib.BA/F3 cells are a type of IL-3-dependent precursor B cell, where certain protein kinases can substitute for IL-3 to promote the growth of Ba/F3 cells. By using inhibitors to counteract this effect, this can be utilized for research on kinase inhibitors.
