Interleukin-4 (IL-4) is a cytokine crucial for the differentiation of Th0 cells into Th2 cells, which possess anti-inflammatory properties. IL-4 is primarily secreted by Th2 cells, forming a Th2 cell loop. Its important functions include promoting proliferation and differentiation of B cells, inducing the synthesis of immunoglobulin E antibodies, and playing a significant role in allergic reactions. IL-4 also induces macrophage polarization towards the anti-inflammatory M2 phenotype, aiding in reducing pathological inflammation. IL-13, a cytokine with similar biological characteristics to IL-4, is produced by T cells, including Th2 cells. The IL-13R signaling pathway is complex and involves various combinations of IL-13Rα 1, 13Rα2, 4Rα, and γc, leading to activation of the JAK/STATs pathway. The IL-4/IL-13 Reporter 293 Cell Line is a luciferase reporter cell line constructed based on the STATs signaling pathway, allowing for in vitro evaluation of IL-4 and IL-13 related drugs.
