Description

Human Liver Sinusoidal Endothelial Cells (HLSECs) are the most abundant non-parenchymal hepatic cells (about 60%), strategically placed lining the hepatic sinusoid, and therefore become the first contact of tissue with circulating lymphocytes. Apart from forming a barrier within the hepatic sinusoids, more physiological and immunological functions of HLSECs have been discovered.
Liver Sinusoidal Endothelial Cells Function
The functions like filtration, endocytosis, antigen presentation and leukocyte recruitment. Compared to other capillary endothelial cells, liver sinusoidal cells exhibit unique structural and functional features – work as dendritic cells and present antigen for CD4+ T cells. The HLSEC maintain immune homeostasis within the liver, implicated in liver regeneration and mediate the immune response with acute and chronic liver injury.
Why Choose Human Liver Sinusoidal Endothelial Cells from AcceGen?
AcceGen cryopreserves primary human liver sinusoidal endothelial cells immediately after purification and delivered frozen. Each vial contains about 5 x 10^5 cells in 1 ml. AcceGen HLSECs are characterized by immunofluorescence with antibodies specific to vWF/Factor VIII and CD31 (PECAM).

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are the recommended culture conditions for Human Liver Sinusoidal Endothelial Cells?

These cells should be cultured in endothelial cell growth medium, supplemented with specialized growth factors.

  • Are these cells cryopreserved, and what is the viability after thawing the cells?

Yes, they are cryopreserved. Post-thaw viability is typically above 80%, if proper protocols are followed.

  • Can Human Liver Sinusoidal Endothelial Cells be used for drug screening or toxicity studies?

Yes, these cells are suitable for in vitro drug screening and toxicity studies related to liver function.

  • What is the typical morphology of Human Liver Sinusoidal Endothelial Cells in culture?

These cells exhibit a typical cobblestone-like morphology of endothelial cells when cultured properly.
