Hepatocyte involves in the production and synthesis of functional proteins that participate in energy metabolism, biotransformation, detoxification, etc. Hepatocytes secrete many materials including structural protein and intracellular enzymes, cholesterol, bile, detoxify substances. Understanding the molecular mechanisms of the liver is beneficial to elucidate new therapies for treatment of hepatic disease.
