The respiratory system cells include respiratory epithelium and other types of cells supporting epithelial homeostasis and lung functions, such as respiratory endothelial cells, smooth muscle cells, and fibroblasts. After the air enters the alveoli from the respiratory tract, the oxygen in the air enters the blood of the capillaries from the alveoli and is transported to the whole body through the circulatory system to provide oxygen for the whole body tissue cells.
