Description | KMS-12-BM cells are a human myeloma cell line derived from the bone marrow of a 64-year-old woman diagnosed with a non-producing type of multiple myeloma. They exhibit a chromosome marker, t(11;14)(q13;q32), indicating a translocation event involving chromosomes 11 and 14. These cells represent the plasmacytoid stage of B-cell differentiation. Notably, KMS-12-BM cells express CD20, CD38, and PCA-1. They do not produce surface or cytoplasmic immunoglobulins and lack the expression of Epstein-Barr virus nuclear antigen. To support their growth, KMS-12-BM cells can be cultured in RPMI 1640 medium supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum, providing essential nutrients and factors for their survival and proliferation.
Why choose KMS-12-BM from AcceGen? KMS-12-BM cells from AcceGen offer advantageous features for scientific research. They are sterile, negative for bacterial, fungal, and mycoplasma contamination, and undergo rigorous quality control. These cells demonstrate high viability and are prepared under standardized conditions by professional operators. These qualities ensure reliable and consistent results, making KMS-12-BM cells a valuable resource for studying multiple myeloma and plasma cell biology. | |||
