COR-L23COR-L23 represents a prominent cell line derived from a pleural effusion of a 62-year-old male afflicted with giant cell anaplastic carcinoma of the lung, and was established in 1985. Characterized by a c-myc amplification and a kras mutation, this cell line holds significant relevance in cancer research. Notably, COR-L23 demonstrates tumorigenic potential in nude mice. In continuous culture, these cells exhibit an epithelial morphology, forming a monolayer. For subculturing, a regimen of splitting semi-confluent cultures at a ratio of 1:5 to 1:10 twice weekly is recommended, employing trypsin/EDTA as the dissociation agent.

Why choose COR-L23 from AcceGen?

COR-L23 cells sourced from AcceGen are characterized by their exceptional viability and quality. They are provided in a sterile state and are rigorously screened for the absence of contaminants, including mycoplasma, EBV, HBV, HCV, HIV-1, HIV-2, HTLV-1/2, and MLV. Moreover, the identity of these cells is verified through STR analysis, ensuring their authenticity and reliability for diverse research applications.

Application

  • FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY

  • The COR-L23 cell line is instrumental in drug development endeavors targeting human lung cancer. It plays a pivotal role in evaluating the efficacy of agents such as alpha and recombinant gamma interferons (IFNs) on the growth of human lung cancer cell lines in in vitro settings. Moreover, COR-L23 is a valuable asset in the investigation of the multidrug resistance-associated protein (MRP) gene within human lung tumors. This research paves the way for the development of innovative therapies designed to surmount chemoresistance, offering promising prospects for more efficacious interventions in the realm of lung cancer treatment.
