Description | C57BL/6 Mouse Alveolar Epithelial Cells are isolated from the lung tissue of C57BL/6 mice and encompass two subtypes: alveolar type I and type II epithelial cells. These cells form the majority of the lung’s internal surface, with type I cells, characterized by expansive squamous morphology and thin cytoplasmic projections, covering over 95% of the lung’s interior. Notably endowed with aquaporins, type I cells exhibit remarkable osmotic water permeability, potentially influencing ion transport and fluid regulation. Conversely, type II cells, occupying a smaller portion of the lung surface, manage the production, secretion, and recycling of pulmonary surfactant, alongside active Na+ transport for fluid balance. These mouse alveolar epithelial cells also prominently express the ACE2 gene, a conduit exploited by SARS-CoV-2 for cellular entry, as evidenced by robust ACE2 gene expression in our C57BL/6 mouse alveolar epithelial cells.
Why choose C57BL/6 Mouse Alveolar Epithelial Cells from AcceGen?
